CLUE #32 - FOUND!

Congratulations to Danielle Bailey and Matt Diamant for finding today's dinosaur!

At the Asian Man Records 15 Year Anniversary BBQ yesterday, right next to where Mike Park was grilling up hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie patties, I posted this clue:

"The dinosaur followed a butterfly to the largest river in the United States"

This led to the next clue:

"The dinosaur visits the largest state in the lower 48 when he is old enough to vote"
Which once decoded, led to this clue:

"The dinosaur plays a game of catch with Andrew, Michael & Action"

This led to the final location, only one block away from the BBQ!

Hidden in plain sight!

  1. This is a recap of the hunt for this dino! Don't read if you want to try and figure the clues out for yourself! SPOILERS!!

Although the clues seem very straight forward in hindsight we had a few confusing mishaps along the way that delayed parts of our hunt! It took us about 45 minutes total from when we saw the clue at thee parkside until we found the Dinosaur!

Clue one: we were already at the location of the 2nd clue, the Asian man records anniversary BBQ at thee parkside! EASY!

Clue two: "The dinosaur followed a butterfly to the largest river in the United States" the person standing next to the clue, who was too lazy to walk to find it, told me the longest river was mississippi, but my smart phone said missouri, both streets were only a few blocks away and to make things even weirder some person crazier than Adam had scribbled weird word puzzles all over the sidewalks of SF. Those halted our progress quite a bit cause I knew in a previous hunt Adam had used sidewalk chalk to leave clues. Eventually we realized "mariposa" was spanish for butterfly and we rushed to the corner of Mississippi and Mariposa to find the next clue!

Clue three: "The dinosaur visits the largest state in the lower 48 when he is old enough to vote" Matt got to this clue before me, he has longer legs and more stamina for uphill walking. He figured it out right away and re routed us to the corner of Texas and 18th!

Clue four: "The dinosaur plays a game of catch with Andrew, Michael & Action" I got to this one first and I figured out the names were all famous "jacksons" immediately. (Action tipped me off, plus my hunting skills were probably just way more fierce by this point) I looked at the map on my smart phone for any reference to Jackson st and instead found Jackson park. Since the clue was about playing catch we rushed to the park and scoured the baseball diamonds, and the field, and around the perimeter of the park! I was searching to see if the park had a sign but couldn't find one. After about 30 minutes of scouring this park we decided to grab sweatshirts and come back. Instead of turning left to head back to the club we turned right and discovered the Jackson park sign. I had already sweeped it from the stairs above but Matt noticed the dinosaur target on the bench and we both got super excited! I got down on the ground and checked under the bench and there it was, a little lonely dinosaur wrapped in plastic!

Thanks Adam for providing me with a much needed adventure and also with a lovely, lovely painting!
